Alëna Shornikova is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Cologne. She graduated in 2012 from the Moscow College of Arts, majoring in Dance, and also studied Theater Directing at the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts.

In 2013, Alëna moved to Germany to further pursue her dance career. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Cologne University of Music and Dance and a Master of Arts in Dance Composition (Interpretation) from the Folkwang University of Arts (2021).

In 2018, she was awarded a scholarship for an internship with the Vertigo Dance Company in Israel.

Alëna has performed, collaborated, and trained with a diverse range of artists, including Kosro Adibi, Dafi Altabeb, Noa Wertheim, Adi Sha’al, Keren Bigon Horesh, Inbal Aloni Debi, Yael Cibulski, Didier Theron, Michèle Murray, Sita Ostheimer, Rodolfo Leoni, Henrietta Horn, and Ale Jara.

As a dancer, she has worked with the Cologne Opera (2016–2018), TdK Düsseldorf (2019), and Theater Marl (2021), among others, performing both nationally and internationally.

In 2022, she began a collaboration with classical composer Bomi Hwang. 

Today, Alëna works as a freelance dancer, engaging in projects with various artists across Germany and abroad.
